The URD team continues to restore the country’s road network, which was destroyed by the war. Some bridges destroyed by the enemy or specially blown up by our soldiers cannot be repaired.
Zhytomyr region was one of the first areas to suffer destruction. The bridge over the Trostyanitsa River, which is a connection of the M-21 Vystupovichi – Zhytomyr – Mogilyov-Podilsky road, has significant logistical importance and is part of the defensive capacity of Ukraine. Blown up in early spring 2022, the bridge is beyond repair, so the URD team started building a new bridge, using non-standard technologies and modern engineering solutions.
For the strength and reliability of the bridge, all necessary technological processes were carried out:
• Installed and reinforced bearing structures.
• Performed reinforcement of the monolithic and sidewalk areas.
• Arranged and compacted the gravel base, carried out waterproofing.
• Created formwork and poured a monolithic slab, also arranged formwork on water slides.
• Arranged gutters on the approaches, carried out compaction of all areas.
• Arranged the road bed, shoulder and installed bridge railings.
• Developed the soil and arranged the adjacent territory.
• Installed road signs and applied road markings.
To restore logistical, passenger and freight transportation throughout Ukraine as soon as possible, the URD road crew worked continuously, and the bridge over the Trostyanitsa River was recently opened. Today all types of transport can already pass over the bridge, as we are completely confident in its strength and reliability.
